(Oct. 6, 2005) Coast Guard Petty Officer Third Class Thomas Bremer, a marine science technician from Coast Guard Sector New York, monitors contractorsÕ work to clean up the oil at the Bass Enterprises South Facility in Cox Bay, La., Oct. 6, 2005. Hurricane Katrina caused an estimated 3.8 million gallons of oil to be released at this facility. A unified command comprised of the Coast Guard and dozens of other organizations are focusing cleanup efforts here and in other locations throughoutsoutheast Louisiana. USCG photo by PO Mike Lutz.
