September 28, 2005: Transcript of a report by Jeffrey Kaye of KCET-Los Angeles. He reports on efforts by the residents from the first major community in New Orleans, the historic area of Algiers south of the Mississippi River, to return to their shattered homes and begin the process of rebuilding and recovering. JEFFREY KAYE: Directly across the Mississippi River from downtown New Orleans and the French Quarter the Algiers district is a community busily coming back to life.
