Description

The Louisiana State Museum's collection comprises 220 photographs of the destruction following hurricanes Katrina and Rita. Traversing across Jefferson, Orleans, Plaquemines, St. Bernard, St. Tammany, Cameron, and Vermillion parishes, photographer Mark Sindler documented how hard the state was hit by these two hurricanes.

Included in this collection are images from the post-Katrina Mardi Gras celebration in New Orleans from February 2006.
